Grant Prospecting
Harper finds hundreds of grant opportunities and creates detailed spreadsheets with eligibility assessments, deadlines, and application guidance sorted by priority.
How It Works
Harper is trained to search through the entirety of the internet for the most up-to-date information and opportunities that might be a good fit. After generating a list, Harper investigates and researches each one with high accuracy and provides a custom research report as it relates to your organization specifically.
Search Limits
Default: 200 opportunities per search
Minimum: 100 opportunities (requests below 100 are automatically increased)
Maximum: 500 opportunities (requests above 500 are automatically capped)
Automatic adjustment: Harper will inform you if your request is outside the valid range
What It Does
Finds hundreds of opportunities - Foundations, government, corporate programs
Evaluates eligibility - Rates each as Yes/Likely/Unclear/Unlikely/No for your organization
Checks if open - Determines if applications are currently being accepted
Creates detailed spreadsheets - 13 columns including deadlines, funding amounts, success secrets
Includes application tips - Strategic advice for top prospects
Covers all funding types - Federal, state, private foundations, corporate sponsorships
Geographic filtering - Local, regional, state, or national opportunities
What It Doesn't Do
Can't customize columns - Spreadsheet format is fixed and robust but not customizable
Can't filter during search - You get the full list sorted by priority, no custom parameters
Can't replace relationship building - Still need human connections for best results
Can't submit applications - Provides research, not submission services
Best Practices
Use the optimal range - Request 200-500 opportunities for best results. The minimum of 100 ensures quality matches, while 500 is the maximum for performance reasons.
Be specific about:
Geographic focus ("Pacific Northwest" vs "California foundations only")
Budget range ("$25,000-$100,000" vs "$500-$5,000 micro-grants")
Program focus ("trauma-informed youth programs" vs "youth programs")
Upload context first - Eligibility assessments are 10x more accurate when Harper knows your organization.
